Cherries contain vitamin C which contributes to collagen formation. Collagen makes up 85-90% of articular cartilage, which cushions the joints. Cherries have also been shown to lower levels of uric acid. Daily consumption of cherry juice may be beneficial in maintaining healthy joints and joints and joint function.
Cherry consumption has also been shown to improve muscle recovery after intensive exercise. Carbohydrates replenish glycogen and anthocyanins facilitate the recovery process while also assisting exercise performance.
