Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa; also known as chokeberry), is a shrub native to North America. Chokeberries can be found in many food products like wine, jams and juices.
The deep purple colour of Aronia melanocarpa has attracted a lot of scientific attention. Purple fruits are rich in polyphenols, especially antioxidants known as anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins. These pigments demonstrate potent cell-protective properties.
The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity or ORAC (a measure of the antioxidant strength of foods) demonstrates chokeberry to have one of the highest values yet recorded among berries.
Directions
Store below 30°C. Shake well before use. Keep refrigerated after opening. Best consumed within 30 days of opening. Dilute 15ml with water to 30ml. Drink 1-2 times daily.
