Nature's Goodness Australia PhytoChol plant sterols
What are plant sterols?
Plant sterols are cholesterol-like substances that occur naturally at low levels in fruits, vegetables, nuts and cereals. Suitable for people who care about the health of blood cholesterol.
Why are plant sterols good for you?
When eaten at the recommended amount, between 2 and 3 grams a day, plant sterols can reduce low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in our blood. Most people obtain between 150 and 360 milligrams of plant sterols daily, depending on diet. Plant sterol may help lower LDL cholesterol (”bad” cholesterol) by blocking its absortion in the digestive tract resulting in the amount of cholesterol absorbed in the body.**
Soy extract - rich source of plant sterols, which reduce cholesterol absorption by up to 15% (when consuming 3g plant sterols per day).*
Flax seed - a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can help increase levels of HDL (the ‘good’ cholesterol) and lower blood lipid levels.*
