Rose hip (Rosa canina) is a fruit with one of the highest levels of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a critical element of collagen biosynthesis in the body.
Rose hip is also a good source of carotenoids and galactolipids. Rose hip is naturally coloured by carotenoids pigments, which have strong antioxidant properties. Galactolipids have also shown to have some anti-inflammatory properties.
Collagen peptides are building blocks of collagen. Collagen is a building block of joint cartilage and tendons and is required for good joint function. Cartilage is a smooth, rubbery connective tissue on the end of bones. It cushions joints and helps them move smoothly. Over time cartilage can become damaged, making joints painful and difficult to use.
